Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy is rejecting claims made in today’s Ireland on Sunday that he was summoned to Co Clare to be carpeted by US Secret Service bosses yesterday.

His comments come following the publication of the article today, which suggested that if cameras were able to collect footage of President Bush in his underwear then a sniper would also have clear access.

However, Commissioner Conroy and the Deputy Commissioner are adamant that at no time was there a risk to the President as all personal and media present at Dromoland Castle had been security screened and vetted.
