A number of areas around Galway city and county are still without water supplies following an electrical fault at a treatment plant last week.

Supplies in Moycullen, Barna, Tuam, Athenry, Oranmore and Headford were affected by the fault at the Luminagh plant on Friday.

A number of B&Bs have had to transfer guests to other accommodation because of the situation.

Local councillor Padraig Conneely says the lack of supplies is scandalous and officials are not doing enough to keep people up to date on the situation.

The local authority says it hopes to have supplies restored "shortly".
