The trial of a Lithuanian man charged with raping and threatening to kill a 27-year-old Russian woman in Waterford last year continues in legal argument at the Central Criminal Court.

The 20-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to rape and sexual assault of the woman, making a threat to kill her and assaulting her causing her harm on March 19, 2006 at an apartment in Waterford.

Mr Justice Barry White sent the jury home until Monday saying that "he had a legal issue to determine which would take some considerable time" and asked the members not to discuss the case with anyone over the weekend.
