High-ranking public service employees are reportedly set to seek hefty pay increases under their latest remuneration review.

Reports this morning said senior local authority officials and health service executives would be seeking pay rises of between 10% and 12%.

The reports also said hundreds of hospital consultants were also expected to submit a claim for a double-digit increase.

Cabinet ministers, judges, senior civil servants and top garda and army officers are also expected to benefit under the review, though they may not make specific pay claims.
