Man critical after Sligo stabbing

A man is today fighting for his life after a stabbing in Sligo.

A man is today fighting for his life after a stabbing in Sligo.

The 29-year-old, who was stabbed twice, remains in a critical condition in Sligo General Hospital after the attack at a house at Garavogue Villas at 1am.

Investigating gardaí later arrested a 40-year-old man in relation to the incident.

The man, who is being detained at Sligo Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, can be held for up to 24 hours.
