Greg Rusedski has been forced to withdraw from next week’s Nottingham Open due to injury.

The British number one withdrew midway through his first-round match with Antony Dupuis at the Stella Artois Championships this week with a hip problem.

He criticised tournament organisers, expressing his bewilderment that Queen’s Club chiefs had not accepted his request for a Tuesday start.

Rusedski will clearly be hoping extra rest will enable him to recover in time to take up his place in the Wimbledon draw this year.
