US employment levels off
US employment ground to a halt in August with no new net posts being created.
The latest figures are expected to keep pressure on the Federal Reserve, to provide more stimulus to aid the economy.
Economists had expected a gain of 75,000 jobs.
However, despite the lack of employment growth, the jobless rate there held steady at 9.1%.
