Vienna: Man with grenades arrested at US embassy

Police in Vienna, Austria today arrested a man found carrying a bag packed with hand grenades and nails at the US embassy.

Police in Vienna, Austria today arrested a man found carrying a bag packed with hand grenades and nails at the US embassy.

The backpack also contained Islamic literature.

The suspect – described only as a 42-year-old Bosnian who now lives in the province of Lower Austria – was captured after he was seen dropping the bag and tried to run off, a Vienna police spokeswoman said.

No one was injured.
