Investigations are continuing into a suspected gas leak at a hotel in Co Cork yesterday which has left one woman dead and her sister fighting for her life.

Investigations are continuing into a suspected gas leak at a hotel in Co Cork yesterday which has left one woman dead and her sister fighting for her life.

The two women, who are understood be from Co Limerick, were staying at the Trident Hotel in Kinsale for a hen party on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to the scene yesterday afternoon where the victim, in her 30s, was found dead in an upstairs bedroom.

Her sister, who was sharing the room, was rushed to Cork University Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
