'Devastated' Holden thanks fans for support

'Britain’s Got Talent' judge Amanda Holden has thanked fans for their offers of “support and love” in her first public comment since the loss of her baby.

The actress and TV judge sent a message to her 333,523 Twitter followers saying she had received thousands of messages during this “horrendous” time.

Holden, 39, was seven months pregnant when her baby boy, with music executive husband Chris Hughes, stopped moving and was later stillborn.

Returning following a two-week absence from the social-networking site, she wrote: “Chris and I would like to thank you all for the thousands of messages offering support and love during this horrendous time.xx”

The couple received several messages of support on Twitter after announcing the news earlier this month.

Myleene Klass and Emma Bunton, who are both pregnant, and ex-Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan joined fans in sending Holden their condolences.

After losing a baby last year, Holden revealed the most recent pregnancy only last month when she was six months pregnant.

The couple have a five-year-old daughter, Lexi.

Spokeswoman Alison Griffin said when announcing the loss of Holden’s baby earlier this month: “They are utterly devastated. Amanda had been closely monitored throughout her pregnancy and it is not yet known what went wrong.”
