150 jobs are to go in Co Galway after Boston Scientific announced it is cutting its workforce, it was reported today.

150 jobs are to go in Co Galway after Boston Scientific announced it is cutting its workforce, it was reported today.

The company said the cuts are in response to changing market conditions.

A spokesman said the company would initially seek voluntary redundancies.

They company hopes to make all of the lay-offs by the end of this year.

2,000 people are currently employed by Boston Scientific in their Galway plant. Boston Scientific is also a major employer in Cork.
