Gardaí investigate Cavan late-night raid

Gardaí are investigating an armed raid in Co Cavan.

At around 1.45 this morning, a gang of three or four men, two of them armed, entered a house near Crosserlough.

They demanded the alarm code and keys to a local shop.

Three people who were in the house were taken in the homeowners car to a quarry near Ballyjamesduff, where they were tied up.

They managed to free themselves within two hours and alerted Gardaí.

An undisclosed sum of money was stolen from the shop.

There are no reports of injuries.
