A couple who only met because they have identical names are divorcing.

Kelly Katrina Hildebrandt found Kelly Carl Hildebrandt on Facebook when she searched her own name in 2008 to see if there were any matches, and as a result the pair exchanged emails and phone calls before meeting up and then marrying in 2009.

But after three years of marriage, the couple have now filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences", NBC News reports.

Kelly Carl Hildebrandt said: "She's a Florida girl, and I'm a Texas guy. We really did come from pretty different worlds."
