Fine Gael slam delay on publication of McDowell report

Fine Gael says the latest confusion surrounding the publication of the report on Campus Stadium Ireland is a stalling tactic.

Fine Gael says the latest confusion surrounding the publication of the report on Campus Stadium Ireland is a stalling tactic.

The Government was to release the Attorney General’s report once all parties linked to the controversy had given their views on it. Fine Gael’s Charlie Flanagan says it is time the "veil of secrecy" is lifted.

It is now believed Campus Chief Executive and Chairman, Paddy Teahon, will not be able to give his response by the 12pm deadline set out for him.

Teahon is also due to appear before the Dail Public Accounts committee for the second time later today. Mr Teahon has yet to state his side of the story but he yesterday faced a grilling from the Public Accounts Inquiry.

Teahon said that he had made mistakes but he also stated he would not resign as that would suggest wrong doing.
