A second Irish woman is reportedly facing a mastectomy after being mistakenly given the all-clear for breast cancer.

Reports this morning say the 38-year-old Limerick woman was initially told that her biopsy was clear, only to be informed four weeks later that she did actually have breast cancer.

The news follows last week's revelation that a Co Tipperary woman had to have a breast removed after mistakenly being given the all-clear for cancer by Cork University Hospital.

This morning's reports say the Limerick woman's tests were examined at a UK laboratory and not at CUH.
