Regulator proposes new taxi rules

Taxi drivers will have to display roof signs naming the county in which they are licensed to operate in.

Taxi drivers will have to display roof signs naming the county in which they are licensed to operate in.

The regulation is one of a number of new measures contained in an action plan from the Taxi Regulator Kathleen Doyle.

She also wants an online fare estimator introduced and a proper register of taxi ranks across the country.
