Pedestrians and cyclists are being urged to take extreme care this morning as high winds continue throughout the country.

Hilly areas in the North and West are the worst affected, however Met Eireann has said the gusts are nothing like the storms earlier in the week.

Winds are expected to gust up to 120 kilometres per hour in places.

However, Met Eireann Meteorologist Harm Luijkx said the winds will moderate by this afternoon.
