A poultry farm in the North has been destroyed by vets.

Thousands of chickens have being gassed to death as part of contingency plans to deal with a possible outbreak of bird flu.

The strain of flu has killed more than 60 people in Asia.

But officials are stressing that the measure was precautionary and there was no fear of infection to the chickens.
