Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man who entered an off-limits area in the central Gaza Strip, the army said today.

Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man who entered an off-limits area in the central Gaza Strip, the army said today.

A military spokeswoman said an explosive device was found next to the man’s body. The incident occurred on Friday night, but troops did not discover the body until this morning.

Palestinian officials said the body was transferred to a Palestinian hospital. Officials could not immediately identify the dead man or say if he was affiliated with a militant group.
