Nearly 90% of people in a new survey believe Irish men bottle up their feelings.

The finding was contained in a Newstalk Nation survey, which saw more than 900 people answer questions on mental health.

Almost 80% of people believe a mental health problem is an illness like any other, but 84% still think there is a stigma attached to discussing such issues.

More than one in five people surveyed rated their mental well-being as ranging from "poor" to "ok".

For 40% of people, finances were the most stressful part of their lives.
