A pedestrian has been seriously injured in a road accident in Co Donegal.

A pedestrian has been seriously injured in a road accident in Co Donegal.

The 26-year-old man was hit by a car shortly before four o'clock this morning on Pearse Road in Letterkenny.

He was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

The driver of the car escaped injury.
