A toothless woman has been arrested for allegedly robbing a US bank to buy false teeth.

A toothless woman has been arrested for allegedly robbing a US bank to buy false teeth.

According to police, the 49-year-old was spotted on CCTV robbing the facility in Pennsylvania and is said to have told officers that she wanted to purchase some new dentures with the money.

Waynesburg patrolman Tom Ankrom told the Observer-Reporter newspaper: "During her confession, she stated she wanted to use the money to pay for dentures she was unable to get through welfare until next year."
