U2 are set to return to the US later this year to perform some more shows on their Elevation world tour.

The band's manager claims the tour is the most successful U2 have ever played.

A DVD and made-for-TV concert film is expected to be released around Christmas.

U2 band manager Paul McGuinness said: "I have no doubts that this is the most successful tour we have ever done.

"It's not just the fact that the tickets were all sold out before the tour started, the band are really enjoying the shows and the audience reaction is absolutely extraordinary. There's a great atmosphere on the road. Everyone feels good about the shows."
