Foot-and-mouth disease tests on suspect sheep in Camolin in Wexford, Annestown Co Waterford and Durrow in Co Laois have returned negative results

Foot-and-mouth disease tests on suspect sheep in Camolin in Wexford, Annestown Co Waterford and Durrow in Co Laois have returned negative results.

Tests carried out on suspect animals from a farm in Co Louth and a meat plant in Bunclody in Wexford are not expected until tomorrow.

Department of Agriculture officials said they are extremely concerned about the Co Louth case in particular because of it's proximity to the Proeek farm, but it was with much relief today, that the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern informed the house about the negative results in the rest of the country.
