Customs officers, gardaí seize cocaine in Wicklow

Customs officers and gardaí have seized half a kilogram of cocaine following a surveillance operation in Co Wicklow.

Customs officers and gardaí have seized half a kilogram of cocaine following a surveillance operation in Co Wicklow.

A foreign national in his mid-twenties was arrested in possession of the drugs, which have an estimated street value of €50,000.

He has been taken to Wicklow garda station, where he is currently being questioned.

The man is believed to have arrived into the country with the drugs on a recent flight from South Africa via Amsterdam.
