Gardaí are reportedly investigating the circumstances surrounding how an eight-month-old baby suffered serious head injuries in Cork.

Gardaí are reportedly investigating the circumstances surrounding how an eight-month-old baby suffered serious head injuries in Cork.

Reports this morning say the infant was brought to hospital in the city earlier this month and is still in a critical condition on a life-support machine.

Gardaí have begun an investigation after being contacted by the Health Service Executive due to concerns about the injuries he had suffered.

The boy is believed to be from the south Cork area.
