Gardaí investigating the murder of a 57-year-old in Co Cork have found no evidence of forced entry at her home following a technical examination of the house.

Gardaí investigating the murder of a 57-year-old in Co Cork have found no evidence of forced entry at her home following a technical examination of the house.

The body of Catherine Smart was found at the house in Bailick Court in Midleton yesterday morning.

It is understood the mother-of-three died of head injuries.

Gardaí in particular wish to speak to anyone may have seen Ms Smart, either at Bailick Road or Bailick Court between 3am and 10am yesterday morning.
