Gardaí release man questioned over Longford murder

A 28-year-old man who was being questioned by Gardaí in connection with the murder of Sharon Coughlan in Longford has been released without charge.

Earlier today a 29-year-old woman who had been detained was also released.

Gardaí said today a file on the man and the woman will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A 19-year-old man was still being questioned by Gardaí this evening in connection with the incident.

The 37-year-old mother of two was found strangled in a vacant house on Great Water Street in the town last Saturday night.
