The 6'7" forward, who plays for Telecom Canarias (Spanish Division 1), is struggling with an injury and will also miss Ireland's home clash against Bosnia on January 26.
Former co-captain, Dan Callahan will not participate in this leg of the semi-final due to club commitments. Callahan signed for Italian club Wurth in November.
New signing Glenn Sekunda is set to make his Irish debut in Cyprus. The 6'9" Irish American is currently signed to Girona, Spain and has spent most of his career in Italy, playing seasons with Bennetton Treviso, Pallacanestro Varese Roosters and Basket Rimini.
Sekunda is an addition to the Irish squad as a versatile player, who excels in both defense and offense and is an accurate outside shooter.
Cyprus are currently bottom of Group C, having lost all three of their games to date, defeated by Germany, Bosnia and Croatia.
