Bush introduces new laws for US agencies

US President George W Bush has outlined a series of draconian measures that will give law enforcement agencies in the US the power to intercept all private communications.

US President George W Bush has outlined a series of draconian measures that will give law enforcement agencies in the US the power to intercept all private communications.

The new anti-terrorism bill which Mr Bush signed into law today will allow organisations like the CIA and the FBI to intercept all post, e-mail, Internet and telephone communications on the grounds that these means could be used by terrorists.

Mr Bush also said that more than 200 postal facilities along the eastern corridor are currently being tested to prevent further anthrax outbreaks.
