Anna Friel says her first date with David Thewlis was so hot they almost set her house on fire.
The couple plan to marry and Friel, 24, says they have been inseparable since the date, which was interrupted when they had to put out a blaze in her living room.
She told Night and Day magazine: "I'd left lots of candles burning on the mantlepiece and they set alight a big wooden mirror.
"We both ran naked towards the flames and started blowing, which I later discovered is the worst thing you can do. It was a very memorable first date."
But Friel, who is waiting for a marriage proposal from her 39-year-old actor and producer boyfriend, won't be selling her wedding pictures to a glossy magazine.
Instead she wants "a pagan ceremony, no meringues or frills". She added: "In fact, it just seems funny walking down the aisle for real because I've done it three times in films."
One of the on screen weddings was for her latest film The War Bride, released on November 27, a story about London girls who married Canadian soldiers during World War II and moved to Canada.
She is currently shooting another British film, based on a novel by best-selling author Marian Keyes.
