The National Consumer Agency is expected to raise the issue of misleading information about house prices during talks with estate agents today.
Some agents have been accused of providing exaggerated selling prices for property in an effort to boost confidence in the market.
The NCA believes this could be a breach of the 2007 Consumer Protection Act.
The accusation of misleading prices has prompted calls for Justice Minister Brian Lenihan to fast-track legislation empowering the Property Services Regulatory Authority.
