Man charged with knife attack murder

A 30-year-old Pakistani man has been charged with murder at a special sitting of Drogheda District Court this afternoon following a double stabbing in the town.

A 30-year-old Pakistani man has been charged with murder at a special sitting of Drogheda District Court this afternoon following a double stabbing in the town.

Shahzad Hussain is accused of killing 32-year-old Muhammad Arif in the knife attack in an apartment at Fitzwilliam Court on Dyer Street in Drogheda last Thursday.

A woman, believed to be the ex-wife of the accused, was left seriously injured after the incident.

Shahzad Hussain has been remanded in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday.
