Eminem has been nominated for six categories in this year's NME Carling Awards.

The US star has twice as many nominations as his nearest British rivals, the Oxford-based band Radiohead, newcomers Coldplay and Mancunian legends Oasis, who have three each.

Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, has been shortlisted in the categories for best album, best single, best solo artist, best hip hop act, hero and villain of the year.

These latest nominations come just a week after the star received four nominations in the Grammy Awards.

The NME Carling awards ceremony will take place on February 6 in Shoreditch, East London.

Music lovers can vote for their favourite artists via the NME website at www.nme.com/awards or through the magazine itself.
