Celtic suffered a disastrous start to their Champions League campaign, looking down and out by half-time against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Olympiyskiy Stadium.

The Parkhead side conceded two goals in the first eight minutes, Brandao’s drive from the edge of the box in the fifth minute followed three minutes later by a Cristiano Lucarelli header.

Brandao had the ball in the net again only to be ruled offside but the Ukrainian club dominated the rest of the half and could have added a couple of more goals.
