Man arrested in Kildare following raid on building society
A man has been arrested following a raid on a building society in Leixlip, Co. Kildare this morning.
The incident took place at the EBS building society on Mill Lane, Leixlip, shortly after 9am.
The lone raider armed with what's believed to be an axe, confronted a female staff member and demanded cash.
The raider fled empty handed and was arrested by Gardaí a short distance away.
Nobody was injured in the incident
The man who is in his early 40s is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Leixlip Garda station.
