Up to 7,000 jobs were lost in the pub industry last year, according to a new report from the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland.

Up to 7,000 jobs were lost in the pub industry last year, according to a new report from the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland.

It said sales fell by 13.1% in 2010 with a further 7.4% decline in the first three months of this year.

The group is calling on the Government to use tomorrow's Jobs Initiative to introduce a package of measures to support the sector.
