Limerick shooting puts girl in hospital

A young girl is in hospital following a shooting in Limerick city.

A young girl is in hospital following a shooting in Limerick city.

The girl, believed to be around 11 years of age, was shot with a pellet gun in the Keyes Park area of Southill at around 3pm this afternoon.

She has been taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle where her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Gardaí in Roxboro are investigating and are asking anyone who saw anything to contact them on 061 214340.
