Bayern Munich secured their 19th championship on Saturday as Roy Makaay’s hat-trick helped them to an impressive 4-0 win at Kaiserslautern.

Makaay struck after Michael Ballack had given the visitors a 19th-minute advantage, with the Dutch international doubling the score by the interval before adding two more in the second half.

The victory leaves Bayern 11 points clear of Schalke with just three matches remaining, after their nearest rivals could only manage a 3-3 draw against Bayer Leverkusen.
