The victim’s cash was stolen after she answered the door to the shaven-headed thief at around 5.20pm in Croft Street, Bangor, Co Down.

The intruder told her there was somebody in her back garden and while she was checking took the money, which was beside a bed in the living room.

Police said the man was aged in his 40s and escaped in the direction of Church Street.

They appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
