'X Factor' considering controversial holograms move

‘X Factor’ bosses want to bring back dead stars as holograms on the show.

Producers on the ITV talent show – judged by Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger – are keen to use likenesses of Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse after Celine Dion sang with a hologram of Elvis Presley on ‘American Idol’.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “The ‘X Factor’ has to keep getting better so they are looking at holograms as a way of creating a splash.

"Imagine Elvis or Amy Winehouse at the grand final. It would be incredible TV and an amazing experience for contestants.

“The technology’s there and has been used on several big stages. The ‘X Factor’ final is perfect for something like this.”

Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse has even hinted he would be behind bringing his daughter – who passed away at the age of 27 last year – as a hologram.

He said: “The most important thing to Amy was the music and I’m sure a lot of people would like to hear her sing again.”
