A man has been charged in Belfast in connection with an assault on a 19-year-old woman in the Carr Road area of Carryduff in September last year.

A man has been charged in Belfast in connection with an assault on a 19-year-old woman in the Carr Road area of Carryduff in September last year.

In the early hours of Tuesday, September 16, 2014, the woman got into a vehicle outside a licenced premises at the Lower Crescent, South Belfast.

She was later left abandoned in a dark and isolated area of the Carr Road after she was assaulted.

The 33-year-old man was arrested in the Ballymoney area last Tuesday and has been charged with committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence and criminal damage.

He is expected to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court on May 22.
