St Patrick's Athletic 1 Galway United 0

Mark Quigley scored his first goal of the season to make it three wins on the spin and keep St Pat's top of the table.

A sluggish start by the St Pat's scarcely mattered as they stole the lead on 22 minutes, against the run of play.

Gary O'Neill did well to put over a cross from the right and Quigley, their topscorer last season, found the net from close range.

The game was effectively up for Galway on 68 minutes when they had defender John Fitzgerald sent off.
