Schools in a Washington state community are on lockdown after reports of a shooting at a courthouse.
Firefighter Adam Bigby said a crew was sent to the Grays Harbour County Courthouse in Montesano, about 100 miles south-west of Seattle, at 12.10pm local time.
There is no word yet on the details, including whether anyone was injured.
The county commissioner’s office has also been locked down.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Russ Winger said initial reports indicate that a deputy and a judge had been wounded at the Grays County Courthouse in a shooting and stabbing this afternoon.
Mr Winger said he did not know the extent of the injuries.
Authorities are looking for one man who is possibly armed with a pistol.
