Anglo Irish Bank share value falls to just 15c

Anglo Irish Bank has seen its share price fall further today following the Government's move last weekend to take 75% control of the company.

Anglo Irish Bank has seen its share price fall further today following the Government's move last weekend to take 75% control of the company.

The bank's shares are now worth just 15c after falling 18.5% today as the ISEQ closed for Christmas.

AIB shares were also down, 3c to €1.74 at 1pm, while Bank of Ireland shares were up 3c to 90c.

The State is taking a 25% stake in each of those banks as part of the €5.5bn recapitalisation plan announced at the weekend.

Overall, the ISEQ Index of Irish shares was down 10.77 points to 2,337.12 as the market closed today.
