The Oireachtas inquiry investigating the CIE mini-CTC scandal will have to wait until next Wednesday to find out if it can continue its proceedings.

The Supreme Court has decided to issue its ruling next week in an appeal against the inquiry taken by the wife of former CIE chief executive Michael O’Donnell.

Mrs O’Donnell has launched a judicial review into the hearing after complaining that it might damage her late husband’s reputation.

She wants the inquiry to abandon its investigation completely.
