Man held in connection with killing of bread man released

Gardaí have released without charge a 51-year old man who had been questioned about the murder of a bread-delivery man in Limerick last week.

Gardaí have released without charge a 51-year old man who had been questioned about the murder of a bread-delivery man in Limerick last week.

The suspect had been questioned about the fatal shooting of Daniel Treacy for the past six days.

A file is to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions on the matter.

Last night, a 29-year old man was charged with Mr Treacy's murder.

The 35-year-old father of two was shot in the head as he delivered bread to a petrol station eight days ago.
