Man remains in custody in connection with Clonakilty killing

Gardaí in Co Cork are continuing to question a 32-year-old man this morning in connection with the murder of Rose Patterson in Clonakilty last week.

Gardaí in Co Cork are continuing to question a 32-year-old man this morning in connection with the murder of Rose Patterson in Clonakilty last week.

Ms Patterson, a 30-year-old mother-of-three, was found stabbed to death at a flat on Connolly Street last Thursday.

Her ex-partner was also found unconscious in the flat at the time and taken to Cork for hospital treatment.

Gardaí investigating the case arrested a Turkish man in Cork city at around 5.30pm yesterday.

He was taken to Clonakilty Garda Station, where he can be held until this evening before he must be charged or released.
