Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson has revealed he is "flattered" and "totally surprised" at being named as new England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson's number one star of the future.
Robinson's inspired form for Leeds has seen him catapulted from a virtual nobody to an international contender.
"I just couldn't believe it when I heard what had been said," stated Robinson. "I was totally surprised.
"It's very flattering to have someone like Roberto Mancini saying nice things about me.
"It's nice to have anyone say good things about you, but to have a player of his calibre do so is fantastic.
"But my main aim is to keep my place in the Leeds team, keep playing well and maybe other rewards will come after it.
"I've just got to do well for Leeds first and get our league form back on track before thinking of anything else."
