Organisers cancel Bangor fixture

This afternoon’s meeting at Bangor has been abandoned due to snow.

Clerk of the course Ed Gretton had initially given the meeting the go-ahead after an early inspection for frost, but the track has since seen plenty of snow.

Gretton had called a second check for 10am but he sees little point in delaying a decision.

He said: “It’s still snowing now and there is just too much about to get racing on.

“There’s about three centimetres on the track and although it is forecast to turn to rain, it won’t be in time for racing to go ahead.”
